I first heard Maslo in Pump It Up Pro 2. The song really caught my attention, so I went online to look for it and found the full version here. The first time I heard the full version, it blew me away and moved me to tears. Your technical skill as a producer is amazing, but it wouldn’t mean anything without all the emotion you put into the music. Maslo means a lot to me. It stands right on the edge between… let’s say between what I want to do (as a musician) and what I want to hear (as a technician if I can call myself like that). It wasn’t the thing that was woooorked and wooorked out hardly — it just, well, happened, and I think you know what I mean. It lived without me and grew that way.

But it’s not the point.

These days my mind is getting more and more seduced by electronic music, and the majority of it is tasteless, frigid trash that teaches us to follow dancefloor standard. It feels like someone is pushing me far from my beloved notes to cold and fearless synths, and I can’t resist. And every single word in your comment just drags me back, to the world which I want to belong to, where I really want to stay now for some time. It seemed that there’re not so much of these words left for me, but still…

Yes! And we have a winner here! ;D I'm doing video out (insertletterhere) series since... oh god, since 2005. :D so it's quite a custom already. Rik was the first one to notice that the line of a, b, c, d, and e suddenly was followed with video out g and still lacks F — thank you for your attention! video out g was based on a draft for video out f. :) That's why.

Few notes to add.
(1) This is the 1st time I've recorded my own live set myself, so I tried and set up all processing units as good as it could be and tried to avoid any further processing. In other words, you hear what I've heard while recording. I'm a bit proud about this.
(2) My own general opinion about DJing is: I want music to sound interesting, I don't want to be able to play vynil or whatever; I don't want to show other deejays that I'm cool enough to ignore songs' keys (HEY! all music actually consists of NOTES! how can you ignore the fact that everything you mix just doesn't sound good together???) After all, I'm not a DJ and never claimed to be. So yes, almost every track here is mixed in key, so in order to archieve it I pitch them back and forth and don't feel uncomfortable about it. I don't care that you might think that Pendulum, Spor or Noisia are poppish or overplayed — I play them because they create music, not beats or goddamn worthless tunes, the word I personally hated after joining dnb community. I also don't feel stupid about the feeling that this mix is "undanceable". I do believe that someone will share the passion I have. Bring it on!

I always wanted to express my view of DJing, so I had a chance. Thank you for reading :)

[VOSP005] Vospi - NAPAD!!

The first track of the Napad series was created for the local Pump It Up championship opening ceremony, and suddenly that turned into a kind of custom. So, new Napad track appeared every time we held a new tournament, and Napad 04 ended to be the opening song of Russian Pump Festival '2009! Today, all these tracks are revealed.

The archive also includes a comic strip which is special for NAPAD!! release.
